A great drama played out in the grand finals of IEM Beijing-Haidian 2020 Europe. Even though Vitality was behind in the series 2-0, the team managed to come back and win the trophy. This type of comeback is rare in the world of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, and it surely shocked the bookies.

However, those who put down money on the French team probably didn’t have any withdrawal problems. That’s why it’s important to always read online betting site reviews, and always bet with trusted bookies. If you don’t know where to bet, you can try asking bettors or reading reviews at platforms such as askbettors.com.

Path to the Grand Final

Truth to be told, Vitality didn’t start off strong. After winning the opening round against Team Spirit, they lost 2-0 against FaZe Clan and were sent to the lower bracket. They managed to recover and win against MAD Lions to get into the playoffs.

In the quarterfinals, they looked strong against Heroic with a 2-1 victory. The semi-finals match against Complexity Gaming was where Vitality shined and won with a much-needed 2-0 sweep. Their opponent in the Grand Finals was the notorious Natus Vincere, one of the favorites to win the tournament.

The Grand Final

Vitality met Na’Vi in the Grand Finals and everything collapsed. The first two maps were a one-on-five with Oleksandr “s1mple” Kostyliev against Vitality, but that’s still brutal. The star player had 27 kills on Nuke and a magnificent 37 kills on Dust 2. He was just unstoppable and there was nothing Vitality could do about it.

It seemed like Na’Vi was going to win the match 3-0 as the third map was their Overpass pick, but s1mple just couldn’t keep up the pace and carry his team completely across the finish line. In the end, Vitality won the map with 16-6 despite s1mple being the only player Na’Vi player that didn’t have a negative score.

The fourth map was Vitality’s pick Inferno, and once again, s1mple couldn’t do it alone as he still maintained a positive score as everyone around him floundered. The fifth and the final map was Mirage and that’s where the actual drama happened.

Zyw0o, who is the only player in CSGO that is widely regarded as s1mple’s equal, had two aces on the map. He opened the match with an ace and one-on-four clutch in the pistol round with only nine health. His second ACE was in the fifth round, where he did another one-on-four clutch with just six health against the last two players. Although s1mple had more kills than Zyw0o on that map too, his team was ineffective and allowed Vitality to win it 16-8.

Vitality could be the best CSGO team in the world and even the mighty s1mple couldn’t stop them. This year won’t have a major tournament but if it did, Vitality would be one of the favorites to win it. Will they keep up the good work in the next season as well? If they do, the Major in Rio is theirs to take.
