Evil Geniuses confirmed Peter Dun as its head coach and fans are already speculating about the possible changes he might bring.

Back in October, it was reported that Evil Geniuses had its eye on former MAD Lions head of coaching staff Peter Dun. The report also noted that part of Dun’s plan for the team is to build around jungler Dennis “Svenskeren” Johnsen. With the confirmation of Dun is head coach, it’s worth looking over the other details that were brought up.

Is Bang leaving Evil Geniuses?

Rumors about Evil Geniuses and its 2021 roster are flying around. One of the most-talked-about moves is the possible departure of ADC Bae “Bang” Jun-sik. There are many possible reasons for this decision. Bang didn’t find in North America the same success he had in the LCK, mostly because teams didn’t know how to use him as a player.

Bang is at his best as a secondary carry, as long as the team has a strong mid laner that can do the job. Evil Geniuses paired Bang up with Daniele “Jiizuke” di Mauro and it worked temporarily, but once Evil Geniuses started switching players Bang was forced to play a passive and low-impact style. Bang might be heading back to the recently franchised LCK where multiple teams are looking to rebuild.

Could Impact leave Team Liquid to join Evil Geniuses?

One of the biggest rumors circulating relates to EG’s new top lane position. The organization is reportedly trying to get Team Liquid top laner Jung “Impact” Eon-yeong whose contract is expiring on November 16. If that rumor is true, it would mean that EG is willing to spend big on a new roster.

If Impact joins, what will happen to Heo “Huni” Seung-hoon? That’s another interesting rumor. It seems like Huni could be considering a role swap. Back in 2019, coaches Jang “Cain” Nu-ri and Bok “Reapered” Han-gyu talked about Huni and how successful he could be as a mid laner or even an ADC. Every year, Huni is rumored to be switching roles, will 2021 be the year he goes through with the decision? Of course, all of these are unconfirmed rumors that should be taken with a grain of salt.

There are no rumors regarding the rest of the roster, but Dun might go for a different approach and bet on some rookie players. After all, that strategy took him to the 2020 World Championship.

League of Legends free agency officially opens on November 16.
