Immortals welcomes Guilhoto as new LCS head coach for 2021

Immortals has started the offseason by signing André “Guilhoto” Guilhoto as its new head coach for the 2021 LCS season.

Guilhoto joins the team after almost two years spent at Origen. He didn’t re-sign with the organization when it was rebranded to Astralis. Instead, Guilhoto will be heading overseas to work with Immortals in the LCS. Before Origen, Guilhoto proved himself as a coach for FC Schalke 04, placing second in the 2018 EU LCS Summer Split and almost qualifying for the 2018 World Championship.

Immortals is planning a rebuilding for its LCS roster this offseason and Guilhoto will be the first piece in that puzzle. According to Immortals director of competitive esports Mike Schwartz, big changes are coming for Immortals before the 2021 season kicks off.

“We’re confident in the coaching pedigree and passion for the work that André will bring to our team,” Schwartz said. “We can’t wait to get to work and will share more of what we’re working on for 2021,”

Immortals is looking to rebuild ahead of 2021 LCS season

Immortals recently announced that they have re-signed with jungler Nicholas “Potluck” Pollock for next season, so that spot should be locked in. Potluck had been playing for both the LCS and Academy squads throughout 2020, but it seems likely that he will get the LCS team’s starting spot in the jungle for 2021.

What the rest of the squad’s roster is still unknown, it seems likely that Immortals will make changes to several positions. Back in August, Immortals made its first move to rebuild the whole roster as they released bot laner Johnny “Altec” Ru, support Austin “Gate” Yu, top laner Paul “sOAZ” Boyer, and mid laner Jeremy “Eika” Valdenaire.

Immortals can start signing new players from November 16.
