Team Liquid and TF Blade split up for mysterious reasons

Team Liquid has parted ways with streamer Ashkan "TF Blade" Homayouni, the organization announced on Twitter.

TF Blade started as a streamer, but became a substitute player for Team Liquid Academy and the LCS main roster. The team supported his ambition to reach rank one in every server and helped him do so with various bootcamps.

In Spring 2020, TF Blade traveled to Los Angeles and joined the LCS team temporarily and played in several scrims. The move came as Liquid dealt with the visa issues of Mads "Broxah" Brock-Pedersen. Those troubles prevented him from joining the team for most of the split.

“It was a great relationship from a competitive perspective, but also from being a TL streamer. Now, his brand and his stream have seen incredible success, and our goals have grown differently. We’ve decided to pursue those independently and that’s really what it is,” Liquid’s CEO Steven Arhancet said in a statement.

What’s next for TF Blade after Team Liquid?

TF Blade continues to be one of the most popular and controversial characters in the League of Legends community. TF Blade accused Riot Games of being racist in March after getting banned from the Korean server for using abusive language. In July, the streamer got kicked from the League Partner Program due to a lack of behavioral improvement. Later in August, TF Blade faced accusations of account sharing and boosting.

Drama surrounds TF Blade wherever he goes. Liquid didn’t point to these issues as part of the cause for his departure, but odds are it played a part in the decision. As for TF Blade, he settled for a simple thank you message on Twitter and didn’t provide any more context.

TF Blade will continue to stream on Twitch, but it’s unclear if he will join another organization.
