Vitality's ZywOo pulls incredible 1 HP clutch versus Astralis
In Team Vitality's semifinal matchup versus Astralis, Vitality AWPer Mathieu “ZywOo” Herbaut showed why he's considered one of Counter-Strike: Global Offensive's greatest players.
DreamHack Fall's upper bracket final was always going to be good, but ZywOo's one-versus-four clutch against the Danes was something else. With the game tied at 4-4 on Dust 2, Astralis' Lukas "gla1ve" Rossander had taken out four of Vitality's players. ZywOo wasn't in a good spot, either. But stuck outside CT spawn and surrounded by Astralis players, ZywOo's trademark sniping style took over.
The AWPer quickly traded gla1ve before sending a dealy message to Nicolai "dev1ce" Reedtz with a headshot flick that looked so casual, ZywOo could well have gone out for coffee.
device's push up catwalk was the right play, but it cost Astralis his life and brought the round down to a one versus two. By this point, ZywOo had 21 health to work with. But the AWP was both cautious and quick as he managed to get the bomb plant down before being jump peeked by e3stag from elevator.
Patrick "es3tag" Hansen tried his best to stall for time as Emil "Magisk" Reif rotated in from B, but ZywOo was just too good. A quick peek into CT spawn eliminated es3tag before the Vitality AWPer's solid movement netted him the kill on Magisk as he pushed catwalk. Believe it or not, this was ZywOo's fifth one-versus-four clutch in his entire career, but there's even something more remarkable about Zywoo.
Zyw0o has an incredible +91 clutch differential in one-versus-one situations, and this marks his fifth one-versus-four clutch since joining the professional Counter-Strike scene. ZywOo can always turn a situation around in Vitality's favor, but today's clutch shows that 2019's CSGO player of the year is a top candidate once again in 2020.
