A total of 230 players are still in contention of getting a perfect Pick’Em for the 2020 World Championship going into the semifinals.

This year’s Pick’Em competition is different from previous years because a physical prize is on the line for people who score the maximum amount of points. The prize includes not only a rare in-game summoner icon but also an Alienware Aurora battle station. The limit of Alienware prizes is at 15 and it currently looks like that limit will step into action.

This year’s Worlds has been entertaining but also with very few upsets, meaning that a lot of people are still in contention for the ultimate prize. Usually, the World Championship is almost impossible to predict correctly, which means that only very few people have done a 100% correct Pick’Em throughout the years.

In 2019, only one player managed to get a perfect Pick’Em but that will likely change this year. With 230 players still in contention, it’s very likely that Riot will be giving out a few battle stations. The semifinals could include some upsets, but even then some fans will see it coming.

The majority predicted Gen.G to beat G2 Esports at Worlds 2020

Even though this year’s Worlds has been more predictable than previous years, the last quarterfinal between Gen.G and G2 Esports ended up eliminating a big chunk of the remaining perfect Pick’Ems.

553 players were still in the game before the series started, but that number was more than halved as G2 stomped their way to victory in a convincing 3-0 fashion. The series was very hard to predict on paper, but the majority of the best Worlds predictors went with the safe choice in Gen.G.

Gen.G came out of group C as the first seed, while G2 looked a bit shakier in group A, resulting in the second seed.

Many players were also close to elimination when Fnatic went up 2-0 against Top Esports in their quarterfinal. In fact, only 21 of the 574 perfect Pick’Ems at the time had Fnatic as the winner. A big upset like that could have changed the Pick’Ems game completely, but in the end, the favorites from Top Esports saved hundreds of players.

The semifinals of Worlds 2020 starts on October 24 and will decide how many perfect Pick’Ems there are left for the big final.
