The second day of play-ins at the 2020 League of Legends World Championship ended with a dominant win from Team Liquid over Legacy Esports.

Both teams had a perfect start to the play-ins, with one win each going into this match. Liquid played a fairly clean match against MAD Lions, where they managed to take them down with confidence. Legacy, on the other hand, had to go through a long and action-packed first match against INTZ, but ended up taking the win.

Liquid was the obvious favorites to win the game, but as the play-in tournament has already shown, anything can happen. Liquid went on to draft a lot of comfort picks, while Legacy went more aggressive with Lucian in the mid lane and Sylas up top.

Legacy tried to put pressure on the Liquid lanes in the early game but Liquid was ready for it. First blood in the mid lane for Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pedersen got the ball rolling for Liquid and they continued scaling for the late game.

After 11 minutes, Broxah was on four kills on his signature Graves. The immense lead in the jungle meant that Liquid could take control over most parts of the map and start to play their desired macro play style.

Team Liquid continues to impress at Worlds 2020

Legacy never got the chance to answer back as Liquid kept running over them at any given chance. Liquid securing the Baron Buff was the final nail in the coffin, allowing them to use brute force through Legacy’s base.

The results proved once again that Team Liquid might be better than most fans would have expected, winning in 28 minutes and only giving away a single kill the whole game. Liquid is currently looking like the hottest western team in the play-ins.

The win keeps Liquid at a great spot in group A. The group will be concluded on September 28 with Liquid facing off against Papara SuperMassive and INTZ. Legacy is still in a solid position but has two tough games left in the play-ins.
