These are the best champions for LoL's One for All game mode
Temporary game mode One for All is live now as part of the PsyOps 2020 event, and we have assembled the best champions to use in conquering Summoner’s Rift.
One for All will be available through October 5. One for All is one of the oldest game modes in League of Legends, as it was first released in 2013. The mechanics of this mode are simple. Players go through a ban phase and a voting phase. Each player can pick a champion, or they can all agree on the same one beforehand. Having the majority vote towards one champion is no guarantee of that champion being chosen, as the game will choose one of the presented options at random.
It might play like a regular game on the Summoner’s Rift, but there are some facts to take into consideration:
- Crowd control is king: There’s nothing more frustrating than dealing with five sources of CC shot at you at the same time. The team with the best source of CC is almost guaranteed to win, so keep that in mind when picking a champion.
- Adapt your builds and runes: The same runes that work for a champion in a regular game might not be optimal in One for All. The same goes for traditional builds. Some might need to build armor and magic resistance, healing reduction, and other stats that champions don’t normally prioritize.
The best champions in One for All
The best champions in One for All are also the most banned champions in the game mode, and for good reason. These are champions with too much CC, mobility, and sustain. Akali, Yasuo, Yone, Darius, and Lux hold the highest win rates, but also the highest ban rates. If your team can get their hands in one of those picks, got for it. If not, here are some solid alternatives:
If it’s difficult to deal with two spinning monkeys, imagine dealing with ten spinning monkeys. Wukong is one of those champions that provide not only CC, but also good damage. This is not a one-trick monkey, as Wukong can do it all.
In the rune department, Wukong goes for Conqueror with Triumph, Legend: Alacrity, and Coup de Grace. For the secondary tree, go for Ravenous Hunter and Sudden Impact for extra healing and lethality. Death’s Dance might be a good item to start with, as it provides life steal, damage, and resistance.
Neeko has good tools in her kit to succeed at One for All. Neeko can stun with both her E and her ultimate. These are more than enough options to keep her enemies in place for a good long time. Using W and sending clones into the bushes is a great way to avoid surprise ganks.
There are two possible paths for Neeko when it comes to runes. Domination for burst damage or Resolve for sustain. Domination Neeko might be able to one-shot an enemy with a simple combo, but a Resolve Neeko will stay in the fights for longer. For players that are not as comfortable with this pick, going for a tanky option might be best.
Volibear is a tank with CC and good damage, and this bear is a triple threat on Summoner’s Rift. Volibear can chase the enemies around and jump at them, all while taking little damage.
Volibear goes for a tanky build, so players must opt for the offensive runes like Press the Attack. Every punch counts with Volibear, so it’s a good idea to get attack speed. Wit’s End is a great item if the opponent is heavy on AP, as it grants both magic resistance and attack speed. For a more aggressive approach, a Trinity Force is the best starting item.
The PsyOps 2020 event ends on October 5, and One for All will again disappear when the event concludes.
