Cloud9 has brought on Henry “HenryG” Greer as its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive general manager while also adding former 100 Thieves coach Aleksandar “Kassad” Trifunovic as the team’s new head coach.

Cloud9 announced the signings of HenryG and Kassad on September 7, setting off the North American team’s rebuild that was reported just the day before. The move comes mere days after HenryG announced his retirement as a CSGO commentator following more than a decade spent behind the desk at events big and small.

According to C9’s new general manager, the team is currently in talks with several big names in the scene as it enters a rebuilding phase after only eight months spent with its current squad. The team has also brought in former 100 Thieves head coach Kassad, a well-respected leader who most recently spent time with 100 Thieves and mousesports before making this move to Cloud9’s new team. There is little information on just who C9 is currently targeting, but it seems as though the organization has handed over the reins to HenryG and Kassad when it comes to how it will build this new team.

In an interview published by Dexerto, HenryG said that his plans for the organization were “ambitious,” saying that Cloud9 had given full control over anything concerning CSGO to the two men.

“C9 have entrusted me with their entire CSGO dynasty and, honestly, I think that’s one of the boldest moves any org has made in a long time… Failure is simply not an option,” HenryG said.
