The 2020 LCS Summer Split final will be kicked off with a bang when Grammy-nominated and multi-platinum selling artist Logic will perform at the opening ceremony.

Logic is a rapper who recently announced his retirement. He was nominated for two Grammy awards in 2018, including song of the year and best music video. His collaborators include Marshmello, who himself has had some involvement in the gaming world through Fortnite.

Logic will return to the stage for the summer finals, where FlyQuest will be facing the winner of Team SoloMid and Team Liquid. His performance will include a rendition of “Perfect”, a single from his most recent album, No Pressure.

According to Riot, the upbeat track will feature sound effects from iconic video game titles and is perfectly suited for an esports event.

Logic returns from retirement for LCS playoffs

Earlier this summer, Logic announced that he will be retiring from making music and instead stream on Twitch. This happened after he signed an exclusive seven-figure deal with Twitch. On Twitch, Logic is doing music-related streams while also playing games such as Call of Duty: Modern Warfare and Fall Guys.

Besides his new career on Twitch, Logic is also an active investor in the esports scene. On August 25, Chaos Esports Club announced a partnership with Logic and rapper Pusha T. Chaos is mostly known for its Counter-Strike: Global Offensive team, which is currently placed 19th in the HLTV world ranking.

Logic will give his performance before the final is kicked off, so people will have to tune in before the games start. The performance is set to start at 1:00 PM PT on Sunday, September 6.
