Former Splyce and Origen jungler Jonas “Kold” Andersen officially retired from professional League of Legends after being absent for one year.

Kold has been inactive since August 2019, when he stepped down as the starting jungler for Origen. His departure from Origen was announced in November, as the organization explained that Kold stepped down due to health issues. In his most recent announcement, Kold explains that the health issues were due to severe physical symptoms from stress.

Kold has spent the last year focusing on recovering and is now at a point where he is looking to return to the League of Legends scene, even though it won’t be as a player. Instead, Kold is looking to pursue a coaching career after almost six years as a professional player.

“As for the future I have decided to officially retire from playing and start a new chapter in my life. I will primarily be looking at coaching positions in LEC/LCS, but I’m open to any interest in collaborating with me,” Kold said in his announcement

Kold is mainly known for his time on Splyce, a fully Danish roster that managed to qualify for the EU LCS in 2015. He played alongside such players as Martin “Wunder” Hansen and Kasper “Kobbe” Kobberup, who have since had very successful pro careers.

Together with Splyce, he finished the 2016 EU LCS Summer playoffs in second place and later took the team to the 2016 World Championship. Splyce continued to be a solid team in the European region until the roster was revamped.

Later on, Kold played for Unicorns of Love and most recently for Origen as the first jungler to be signed by the organization as an LEC franchise in 2018.
