s1mple owns the record for best kill-death score in CSGO history
Oleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev leads all pro Counter-Strike: Global Offensive players in history in kill-to-death differential.
s1mple has posted a +6,471 over 1,207 maps, beating out Kenny "kennyS" Schrub, Nicolai "device" Reedtz, and Marcelo "coldzera" David for the number one spot. Natus Vincere's star player also came in second in all-time rating with a 1.24 behind Team Vitality's Mathieu "ZywOo" Herbaut. While this is an amazing stat, it probably doesn't come as a surprise to those who have followed s1mple over the years.
While the Ukrainian superstar is a scary foe with either an AWP or a rifle, s1mple's overall performance during opening pistol rounds leaves something to be desired. Out of all eligible players, s1mple ranks 29th in overall rating in those two rounds per match where his explosive potential is limited by strategy and the support he receives from his teammates.
Despite his aggressive reputation, s1mple's impact tends to come closer towards the middle and later stages of rounds. As one of the world's top players, s1mple only utilizes his talent sparingly at the start of rounds, going for opening kills just 28.8% of time.
But his low opening kill attempt percentage doesn't mean that s1mple isn't good at grabbing the first kill for his team. When he does open rounds aggressively, he succeeds over 60% of the time.
CSGO is a team game, and there is always the danger of looking at statistics in a vacuum and ignoring a player's overall impact on his team. According to these statistics, s1mple's is most effective when he already has an idea of where his foes are. With a high KD ratio, he wins duels against most players, while also possessing the ability to put his teams in man-advantage situations as the second or third man in during executes.
