Team SoloMid is continuing to dominate the Valorant esports scene.

The impressive Valorant squad took home a $6,000 prize at the Pittsburgh Knights Invitational after beating Gen.G in the three-game grand finals set.

The win was all the more exciting for the squad’s fans since TSM had lost to Gen.G when they first faced off earlier in the tournament. TSM had beaten other top teams including Renegades and Immortals before losing to Gen.G the first time around. Despite the disappointing outcome, TSM fought its way into the grand finals after defeating Cloud9.

Gen.G had an impressive run as well. They went undefeated before their loss to TSM, beating Complexity, Homeless, and TSM. Unfortunately for them, TSM came back to beat them 2-1 in the grand finals.

TSM shapes up as top NA Valorant esports team

Gen.G has beat TSM in other tournaments as well, making them one of the top teams in North America. But TSM is currently clinging to the number one spot after their victory at the FaZe Clan Invitational earlier this month and the T1 x Nerd Street Gamers Showdown. Despite Valorant’s fairly young esports scene, it seems that Gen.G and TSM are already clear rivals in the region.

Other top teams in North America include T1, Sentinels, Cloud9, and 100 Thieves. Europe is also shaping up to be a competitive region for Valorant now that Team Liquid has scooped up the fish123 roster

TSM will be competing later this month at the final North American event in Valorant’s Ignition Series, Pop Flash. Taking place August 26 to August 30, this tournament will see eight teams competing for their part of a $50,000 prize pool.
