Playoffs in the 2020 LCS summer Split are right around the corner and the final standings are still undecided. With Team Liquid in sole possession of the first place, Cloud9 and Team SoloMid are fighting for second.

The summer took an unexpected turn and Team Liquid is now the number one team in the league. Cloud9, the favorite coming into the split, is dropping games against teams it defeated in the first half of the season. Against Liquid, C9 pulled out all of its tricks and still ended up losing the match. On Saturday, C9 played a standard meta composition and dropped a game against Golden Guardians. That result was not a good look for C9, especially this close to the playoffs.

TSM is on a three-game winning streak and is hoping to make it four. TSM had ups and downs throughout the season, so it’s difficult to know which version of the squad will be facing C9. TSM can look like the best team in the region or a bottom-tier team, all in the same weekend. The duality of the team makes it unpredictable.

Blaber vs. Spica highlights C9 vs TSM rematch

The first time TSM and C9 played this summer, it was all about the junglers. The clash between Robert “Blaber” Huang and Mingyi “Spica” Lu went exactly as expected with Blaber outplaying Spica. In the rematch, Spica might have a better chance against Blaber.

It feels like the other LCS teams have finally cracked the code and now understand how to play against Blaber. 100 Thieves, the first team to defeat C9 this season, dictated a masterclass of early aggression and play through the jungle. If TSM and Spica neutralize Blaber early, the team might just have a good chance to take the win.

C9 the favorite to win versus TSM

On Winners.bet, Cloud9 is favored at 1.31 against TSM’s 3.15, and this number is despite C9’s loss to Golden Guardians.

That number just doesn’t fully reflect the current state of both teams. TSM has been drafting for comfort and going for off-meta compositions that it can execute to perfection. C9 failed to win using unexpected tricks and failed to use meta champions. If there is a time to be worried about C9, it might be now. If TSM picks up a win, it will tie for second with C9, making this encounter all the more important.

TSM and C9 play at 4 PM CST.
