CSGO streamer Anomaly joins Luminosity Gaming as Valorant influencer
Famous Swedish Counter-Strike: Global Offensive streamer Ludwig “Anomaly” Lagerstedt has revealed that he has joined North American organization Luminosity Gaming.
The streamer, well known for his bombastic style and goofy persona will be joining the roster as a content creator. Best known for his CSGO content on both Youtube and Twitch, the Swedish gamer has expanded into Valorant as of late, becoming one of the game’s most viewed streamers.
Despite his big fan base and admirable skill, Anomaly has no prior competitive experience in either CSGO or Valorant.
Anomaly joins an increasing number of gaming personalities, including Fortnite streamer Elliott “Muselk” Watkins among others, that have been signed by Luminosity Gaming.
Best known for his disruptive gameplay, hysterical reactions, and trademark balaclava that he wears to keep his real identity a secret, Anomaly is one of CSGO’s biggest stars outside of the competitive scene.
His streams also sometimes feature his father, Christer Lagerstedt, better known as Papanomaly. The father-son duo have their own separate YouTube channel which has over 800,000 subscribers.
Anomaly became a CSGO staple due to his case opening videos that have garnered millions of views. His over-the-top reactions to the unboxings and, at times, griefing gameplay have become the stuff of legend in the CS community. Apart from streaming CSGO, Anomaly has dabbled in other games such as Fortnite, Minecraft, and PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds.
His accolades have transitioned nicely into Valorant, as his viewership peaked at over 100,000 concurrent viewers. Some streamers, such as Jaryd "Summit1g" Lazar, have accused the Swede of view botting and other shady practises in garnering those numbers. He has also been punished by Twitch twice the past, receiving bans for "hateful conduct" as well as a separate incident where he used a Minecraft mod that turned his avatar into Adolf Hitler.
With Luminosity currently not fielding a Valorant or CSGO roster, it is unknown if Anomaly will be competing for the organization’s Valorant roster on a professional level, although it seems highly unlikely.
Many fans have already expressed their hopes of seeing an Anomaly-led Luminosity roster going up against the world’s best just for the memes.
