Riot Games accidentally leaked information on Valorant’s newest agent, Killjoy.

Valorant fans have been impatiently waiting for Agent 12, even data mining voice lines and animations. But now information about Killjoy has been confirmed by Riot, who accidentally published a reveal page for the agent earlier than intended.

The since-deleted page on Riot’s website went live July 27 and was titled “Enter Killjoy.” The page outlined the agent’s abilities, leaving spaces for YouTube videos that had not gone live at the time. There was an editor’s note on the unfinished page that suggested the information be written from Killjoy’s point of view.

“OK Brimstone, I read your Beginner’s Guide. All you needed to say was — have me on your team!” the page’s intro read. “I know you like that thing you do when you yell at the sky, but with me, tactics beat firepower. So, let me remind you how I’ve already thought of everything.”

New agent Killjoy’s abilities revealed

Like data miners and players had determined earlier this month, Killjoy is an agent focused on turrets, similar to Overwatch’s Torbjorn. He will have a few different abilities focused on deploying turrets that deliver different benefits to his team.

Ability 1: Alarmbot

Killjoy describes his Alarmbot as a “killer bot friend” that hunts down enemies within its range. The Alarmbot not only deals damage but leaves its targets vulnerable to double damage from their opponents. You can also recall the deployed turret by holding “equip.”

Ability 2: Turret

“Sometimes it’s good to plant some roots,” Killjoy said.

This ability deploys a turret that fires at enemies in a 180-degree cone. This turret allows Killjoy to better hold sites by himself, since the turret can cover additional angles.

Signature Ability: Nanoswarm

Killjoy’s signature ability (E) is a grenade that lands silently. When activated, the grenade deploys a “damaging swarm of nanobots” that “catch the enemy crying.”

Ultimate Ability: Lockdown

This device has a windup time, but once it’s up and running, the Lockdown ability detains all enemies caught in its radius for about eight seconds. While enemies can destroy this turret, Killjoy says he can built “plenty more.” It’s unclear if that means deploying additional turrets immediately, and it’s not clear how many turrets are available for use at once.

When is Killjoy going to be released?

Riot has yet to make any official announcement on the arrival of Killjoy.

Developers have previously explained that they expect six agents to come out each year, following a consistent schedule of episodes and acts. Valorant Act 2 is expected to be released August 4, so Killjoy will most likely be available around that time.
