GeT_RiGhT reveals that he caught COVID-19 during Flashpoint Season 1
Christopher “GeT_RiGhT” Alesund had a really bad time in Flashpoint Season 1.
It isn’t just because his long-awaited reunion with his former Ninjas in Pyjamas teammates ended the event with an underwhelming 10th-place fashion. According to the legendary lurker, GeT_RiGhT’s time in Flashpoint also stunk because he caught COVID-19.
The Dignitas player discussed his diagnosis on Twitter:
Wow.. interesting news.
Seems like I can visit my parents after months not seeing them (I’ve met them once this year outside when I had my birthday). I have antibodies for COVID-19

GeT_RiGhT isn’t sure how he actually contracted the coronavirus, but the former major winner stated that he is certain that he was afflicted while he was in the United States. During his time on the other side of the Atlantic, he said he had all the symptoms of COVID-19 and had “never felt so sick in [his] life.” He played through the illness, but his performance was undeniably impacted.
Dignitas failed to advance to the Flashpoint Season 1 playoffs, finishing in a disappointing 10th place.
Alongside GeT_RiGhT’s health issues, the team was also forced to play with a substitute. Håkon “hallzerk” Fjærli was unable to compete in the event due to visa issues. While DIgnitas found an able replacement Ladislav “GuardiaN” Kovács, it was still a curveball the team hadn’t prepared for.
GeT_RiGhT didn’t state how he contracted the disease and it’s unclear what sort of precautions he took while he was showing symptoms. He did note that he quarantined for over a month once he returned to Sweden.
COVID-19 wasn’t GeT_RiGhT’s only problem at Dignitas
Despite being months removed from having COVID-19, GeT_RiGhT still isn’t playing at his peak right now. He noted on Twitter that he is currently suffering from issues with his arm that are impacting his performance:
So I’ve been more updating regarding myself on insta then actually twitter (not really sure why tho)
But, for those who follow my stories there my arm is .. getting some sort better. Meet a naprapath for fixing/helping the hand/arm/back to get back to normal.

The good news is that GeT_RiGhT is getting the help he needs and is working with doctors to determine what the issue is and how best to tackle it. He specifically credited former teammate and current coach Robin “Fifflaren” Johansson with helping him get things right.
GeT_RiGhT will have a good chance to recover. Most top Counter-Strike: Global Offensive teams are set to go on break for much of July, and Dignitas is among that lot. If GeT_RiGhT can get his health in order, Dignitas could be able to be much stronger on the server than what fans saw in the first half of 2020.
