Dendi and B8 announce new roster for BEYOND EPIC league

Danil “Dendi” Ishutin has hit the reset button on his new Dota 2 team, B8.

The legendary player is surrounding himself with an all-new lineup that features significantly fewer established names than the previous one. Instead of scooping up random free agents, Dendi is looking to return to the top with a lineup of relative youngsters from lesser-known teams.

B8’s new roster stands as follows:

  1. Arets “Crystallis” Remco
  2. Danil “Dendi” Ishutin
  3. Oleg “LastHero” Demidovich
  4. Enis “5up” Elfki
  5. Dmitriy “Fishman” Polishchuk

The new B8 lineup will make its debut in the closed qualifiers for BEYOND EPIC’s European and CIS league, a new event being organized by the company behind the Epicenter event series.

With this new roster, Rinat "KingR" Abdullin and Andrey "Ghostik" Kadyk are likely free agents. They were a part of a B8 roster that suffered overwhelmingly negative results since the team’s inception, consistently losing after being invited to a slew of prominent events. This included B8 breaking the record for longest losing streak in pro Dota 2 history, during which they dropped 26 matches in a row.

Dendi joined by young Dota 2 teammates in B8

When Dendi formed B8, he surrounded himself with seasoned players from top CIS organizations. That was something of a surprise after Dendi returned to action in late 2019 with MR Team, a squad that found quick success in regional events. Roster poaching by larger organizations took a toll on MR, and by the time MR Team had become B8, the roster was already quite different.

On paper, the B8 roster was still a solid lineup composed of players from top organizations such as Fnatic, Team Empire, and Natus Vincere. But the team underwhelmed at every turn, finishing in last place in almost every event it competed in.

The new B8 has a pair of largely unknown players, with 5up and Crystallis playing in various regional in-house leagues and qualifiers. LastHero and Fishman are a bit more seasoned, with the duo having played together for Vega Squadron in 2019.

Dendi himself has played generally well during his time with B8, but it’s unlikely that this lineup will explode to the top of the highly competitive European and CIS scenes.

It can’t do any worse than the previous roster.
