Valorant release time for North America, European players revealed

Jessica S. June 1, 2020

Riot Games’ tactical shooter Valorant is set to launch on June 2. Fans who didn’t get a chance to play and players from the closed beta alike are chomping at the bit to get their hands on the game as soon as possible.

What time does Valorant launch?

The number one question on every player’s mind is when, exactly, the game will launch. On Valorant’s Twitter, that question has been answered. In a post, Riot released the exact times that the “go” button will be pressed for each region.

For those in the United States, the game will launch at 8 a.m ET, 5 a.m. PT. For players in Europe, servers will launch at 6 a.m GMT.

What platforms will Valorant launch on?

When Valorant launches, it will be available only to PC players. PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms are not supported at launch, although there are some leaks suggesting that the game will come to PS4 and mobile platforms sometimes in the future. However, on the June 2 launch of Valorant, the game will only be available to players on PC.

The good news is that the game has very accommodating technical requirements, making it viable for almost anyone with a modern PC.

Will the additional features appear with Valorant’s launch?

Valorant will launch with a new hero, new map, and new game mode. All of these features will be released with “Episode 1: Ignition,” which appears to be the first season for Valorant.

The new hero being released is Reyna, who was revealed a few days before launch, and her abilities were leaked by Millenium. A new map named Ascent will also be available in the map pool, which is a relief to players after the same three map rotations for the entire beta period.

As far as the new game mode goes, not much has been revealed about it but speculation points to the new mode being available at launch.
