Ex-Virtus.pro stars TaZ and Neo unveil new CSGO team Honoris
Filip "NEO" Kubski and Wiktor "TaZ" Wojtas have announced their returns to competitive Counter-Strike: Global Offensive with Honoris, a brand new Counter-Strike team with the backing of Red Bull. The two had previously spent over ten years as teammates on the legendary Virtus.pro roster before TaZ found himself benched and subsequently released by the team in 2018. NEO stayed with Virtus.pro for a while longer, ultimately leaving the team in early 2019. He spent several months on FaZe Clan before being released.
Both NEO and TaZ reunited for a short time with ARCY before the team disbanded. Now, TaZ and NEO are back in the CSGO scene with Honoris. Joining the two CSGO veterans are three young players in Daniel "STOMP" Plominski, Kamil "reiko" Cegielko, and Wojciech "Prism" Zieba.
STOMP had spent most of his Counter-Strike career with Illuminar before Honoris acquired him in early May, shortly after the team's initial reveal. reiko comes to Honoris from Codewise Unicorns, while Prism was scouted by the new veteran-led team from Pompa Black. Together, the five form an all-Polish roster that will look to fill some of the holes left in the tier-two scene by the migration of pro players to Valorant.
Honoris is currently slated to compete in this week's Home Sweet Home series.
Towards the end of TaZ's time on Virtus.pro, rumors swirled that schisms within the longstanding roster were a major factor in the team's decline and collapse, something that TaZ says is now behind him. According to an interview with Red Bull, the pair wanted to create something of their own.
"We will choose which way we want to go, based on our knowledge and experience...We just love playing computer games, and that drives us," TaZ said.
