Team Secret beats VP.Prodigy, win WePlay! Pushka League title

Team Secret claimed the WePlay! Pushka League title with an undefeated playoffs run.

After finishing as the top seed in Group A, Team Secret went on to stomp its enemies in the playoffs. Team Secret kicked off the playoffs stage with a clean sweep against Natus Vincere. It then advanced and defeated Team Liquid in the same way. The team advanced in the upper bracket finals and was pitted against VP.Prodigy.

Like Team Secret, VP.Prodigy was also undefeated in the playoffs. However, the winning streak of VP.Prodigy ended there. Team Secret did not mind its opponent’s momentum and focused on its own game. The European powerhouse knocked down VP.Prodigy and secured the first spot in the grand finals.

Team Secret dominated the Europe and CIS regions with this roster:

  1. Lasse "MATUMBAMAN" Urpalainen
  2. Michał "Nisha" Jankowski
  3. Ludwig "zai" Wåhlberg
  4. Yazied "YapzOr" Jaradat
  5. Clement "Puppey" Ivanov

Team Secret stomped VP.Prodigy once again

VP.Prodigy did not let the upper bracket loss stomp its morale. The team asserted its dominance over Team Liquid in the lower bracket finals. After a quick 2-0 win, VP.Prodigy advanced to the grand finals, but fared even worse in the rematch. Team Secret chalked up three convincing wins against VP.Prodigy in the grand finals.

During the first game, VP.Prodigy was able to stretch things out longer than expected but Team Secret is exceptional in late game scenarios, which allowed Secret to close things out .

The second game proved why Team Secret is one of the best teams in Europe. The game finished in just 17 minutes thanks to a great performance by NIsha, which put the European giants on match point.

MATUMBAMAN brought it for the final map. He recorded 13 kills, 2 deaths, and 12 assists in the 27-minute game. Team Secret ended the tournament with a massive 23,000 net worth advantage.

WePlay! Pushka League also announced the winner of the Most Valuable Player awards. Puppey was awarded as the MVP Support while MATUMBAMAN got the MVP at the core role. The MVP award earned them $5,000 in extra prize money.

Team Secret commemorated its huge win with a throwback photo from its MDL Disneyland Paris Major victory. One year ago, the team bested Team Liquid and was crowned as the major champions.

Team Secret came back stronger from its surprising defeat at ESL One Online Europe and CIS. The flawless run in the WePlay! Pushka League proves that the team is still at the top of its game.
