FaZe Clan loses to Astralis after this hilarious anti-eco fail
FaZe Clan is really good right now. The squad of stars has been surging in the ESL Road to Rio European division and is guaranteed a finish in the top three of the tournament. Despite struggling to live up to the hype throughout most of its existence in Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, FaZe might be ready to finally start living up to its potential.
That doesn’t mean they’re perfect, though. They’re capable of fumbling wins in disastrous fashion, just like any other team.
A great example of this came in FaZe’s upper bracket finals match against Astralis. Just take a look at what happened in round 20 of their showdown on Dust 2:
After losing one man to Peter "dupreeh" Rasmussen’s Zeus x27, Helvijs "broky" Saukants then took teammate Marcelo "coldzera" David’s head clean off with an AWP. That left FaZe in a three-on-three situation but Emil "Magisk" Reif turned the tide in impressive fashion with his Desert Eagle, landing two headshots. That left broky all alone against three members of Astralis, a situation he couldn’t get out of.
That round was devastating for FaZe and sent them on a downward spiral from there. Astralis tied the game off that round and sprinted to the finish line from there with a 16-11 victory. They closed out the series by taking a 2-0 win after winning 16-7 on Inferno.

Though that round certainly caught the attention of the CSGO world, broky got a bit of redemption later on by killing four players to steal a round from Astralis.
FaZe Clan isn’t done quite yet in the ESL Road to Rio EU event. The team will take on G2 Esports in the lower bracket finals. If they win, they get a chance for revenge against Astralis in the grand finals.
