Blizzard has some great news for Overwatch League fans looking to expand their collection of official team skins.
Blizzard’s new skin purchasing offer means that for any new Overwatch League skin purchased, players will now receive two different skins for the price of one.
During the course of Season 1, players could buy a single skin for a total of 100 Overwatch League tokens, an in-game currency unique to the game and its professional league.
This system has now changed for Season 2, as players will receive the away team skin variant along with any home skins that are purchased. The away team skins have previously only been available for viewing during matches, making this the first time players have been able to sport them in-game outside of OWL matches.
Away skins are generally made distinct from their home variants with lighter tones and colors.
Any player that has made a purchase of skins during the 2018 season will have the away team skin applied to their account retroactively. This means that fans of the away skins who’ve already invested won’t be missing out. The new skins can be found in the players’ hero gallery.
Moving into the 2019 season, the deal also applies to new team skins for the 2019 Overwatch League expansion teams. Atlanta Reign, Chengdu Hunters, Guangzhou Charge, Hangzhou Spark, Paris Eternal, Toronto Defiant, Vancouver Titans, and Washington Justice will all have away variants available.
The expansion team skins are now available in-game for purchase, bringing the number of available Overwatch League skins to a total of 1,160. Overwatch League tokens can be purchased directly from Blizzard’s online store.
