VP.Prodigy looks like it might be a real contender in the CIS region. The academy squad completed a perfect run through Redbull’s Gaming World and followed that with another first-place finish in the StayHome Challenge.

Virtus.pro recently announced the formation of its youth team earlier this month. VP.Prodigy debuted at Parimatch League Season 2 Relegation and successfully earned a spot in the league.

VP.Prodigy’s next endeavor was Redbull’s Gaming World. wherein it claimed its first tournament title. Gaming World boasted a prize pool of roughly $10,000. Eight teams from Europe and CIS battled in a single-elimination format including OG.Seed, Vikin.gg, and Team Unique.

VP.Prodigy kicked off the tournament with a convincing win against Nemiga Gaming. It advanced in the semifinals and had an impressive 16-minute victory over ARAHOSOVIE SOKOLI.

During the grand finals, VP.Prodigy was pitted against Yolo Knight. Yolo Knight eliminated OG.Seed and Vikin.gg before securing a spot in the final series. Vikin.gg had to forfeit the game against Yolo Knight due to conflict of schedule with the ESL One Los Angeles Online League.

VP.Prodigy claimed its second title at StayHome Challenge

VP.Prodigy’s winning streak did not end at Gaming World. The team secured another tournament title under its belt with its huge win at the StayHome Challenge.

VP.Prodigy finished as the top seed of its group at the expense of Danil “Dendi” Ishutin’s team B8, OG’s second squad OG.Seed, and CIS team Cyber Legacy.

In the playoffs, VP.Prodigy stomped FlyToMoon in a clean, 2-0 sweep. The team faced Vikin.gg in the upper bracket finals and it lost the first map. VP.Prodigy came back stronger, claiming two quick victories and a spot in the grand finals.

The finals saw a rematch against Vikin.gg. Once again, Vikin.gg kicked off the series with a win, only to see their lead evaporate as VP.Prodigy won out. VP.Prodigy received $9,000 for its first-place finish.

Alongside these wins, VP.Prodigy secured a spot in the WePlay! Pushka League through qualifiers. If VP.Prodigy posts another first-place finish there, a strong case can be made that Virtus.pro has the two best teams in the CIS region.
