Sparking Arrow Gaming had an impressive run in CDA League Season 1.

The unheralded team surprised fans as it went undefeated through the first three weeks of competition. The team lost its first series against Invictus Gaming in week four. The team suffered another loss against top-ranked Chinese team Vici Gaming, but that wasn't enough to knock Sparking Arrow Gaming out of the top spot. That strong start kept them on top of the league for the remainder of the event.

For the first-place finish, Sparking Arrow Gaming received 221,500CNY, approximately $31,313, for its first-place finish. Invictus Gaming came in second while PSG.LGD ranked third. Invictus Gaming and PSG.LGD were rewarded 172,000CNY and 142,500CNY, respectively.

CDA was formed by China’s top Dota 2 organizations to provide an avenue for competitive matches despite the ongoing global situation. Vici Gaming, LGD Gaming, Invictus Gaming, Team Aster, Royal Never Give Up, EHOME, Newbee, and Keen Gaming are the founding members of the club.

10 Chinese teams participated in CDA League Season 1 with all CDA members directly invited. Sparking Arrow Gaming worked its way into the event through qualifiers meant to give other Chinese teams the opportunity to stay active.

The current roster of Sparking Arrow Gaming includes:

  • Zhong "圣子华炼" Liushuai
  • Liu "白学家" Yuhao
  • Ou "Op" Peng
  • Chong “FelixCiaoBa” Wei Lun
  • Ru "RedPanda" Zhihao

Sparking Arrow Gaming was formerly known as Royal, Royal Never Give Up’s second Dota 2 squad. Recently, the Chinese team claimed the title in China Dota2 Development League Season 2. The team also had great results in small-scale Dota 2 tournaments such as Battle of Dawn, Hainan Master Cup, and Asian Masters League S4.

Fans will see a tougher competition in the next season of CDA League as the Chinese Dota 2 Professional Association and Dota Professional League announced a merger of the two online leagues. The decision came due to player exhaustion stemming from the surge in the number of online leagues.

The first season of DPL-CDA Professional League Season will begin on April 27.
