Team Liquid, B8 first eliminations from ESL One Los Angeles Europe

Team Liquid and B8 are out of the ESL One Los Angeles Europe and CIS online league.

Fans of Team Liquid are undoubtedly disappointed in the team’s performance, as Liquid was one of the strongest teams in the event and one of the few that wasn’t forced to compete with substitutes or players that had only recently been added to its roster. Unfortunately, the team was mathematically eliminated from the event after going 0-5 in group stage series.

A 2-0 defeat at the hands of Team Secret sealed the deal for the team. Secret dominated Liquid with its flawless rotations and aggressive play style. Both games were lopsided and were finished before the 35-minute mark.

Liquid didn’t go winless at the event, taking four map wins during the group stage over Alliance, Chicken Fighters, Team Unique, and Team Spirit. Despite that, all those victories would be undone with 2-1 series losses.

Dendi and B8 continue to struggle in online leagues

In Group A, Danil “Dendi” Ishutin’s organization B8 was the first to be eliminated. The team had a slightly longer run compared to Team Liquid, thanks to a win against HellRaisers. B8 was grouped with the back-to-back The International champion OG and other top teams such as Team Nigma and Virtus.pro.

Though those losses would be forgivable if the team was performing well elsewhere, it suffered defeats at the hands of lesser teams, as well. Cyber Legacy, Vikin.gg, and Gambit Esports outplayed B8 in the group stage. After five lost series, B8 was forced to bid goodbye to its ESL One Los Angeles journey. Both teams will take home $2,000 for their troubles.

Meanwhile, Virtus.pro and Team Secret cleared the group stage undefeated, with 6-0 records. This guarantees both a spot in the upper bracket playoffs.
