LGD adds Black^ and Ahjit to new LGD International Dota 2 roster

LGD International has announced some new additions to its team. Dominik "Black^" Reitmeier is returning to the organization he played for seven years ago, and will be joined by Malaysian journeyman Lai "Ahjit" Jay Son.

This move coomes after LGD International underperformed in its debut in the ESL SEA Championship Open Qualifier. It was followed by another disappointing result at Hainan Master Spring Invitational SEA Qualifier.

The LGD International roster now stands as follows:

  1. Lai "Ahjit" Jay Son
  2. Dominik "Black^" Reitmeier
  3. Wang "Gy" Kok Guan
  4. Pang "BrayaNt`" Jian Zhe
  5. Raymond "Rayy" Then

Black^ reunites, Ahjit returns to action with LGD International

Black^ has long been one of Dota 2's preeminent journeymen, playing with top teams in five of the six major Dota 2 regions. His greatest successes came as a part of China's Vici Gaming, but he has also posted strong results in Europe with mousesports and southeast Asia with Team Faceless.

In 2013 he had a stint with LGD.int, a European team sponsored by China's LGD Gaming. LGD International is a revival of that LGD.int brand, though the current version of the team is predominantly made up of southeast Asian players.

Black^ last played for the prestigious Korean organization T1. The departure of Black^ from T1 came after his decision that the team is not the right fit for him.

“Leaving T1 was bittersweet, but my short time with the team rekindled a fire inside me that I thought I had lost forever. I’ve never been more determined than I am right now to prove myself. I’m more mature now, and I’ve learned so much from my experiences, and I feel like I’m a better player now than I’ve ever been,” Black^ stated in an article posted to ONE Esports' website.

His stint in T1 may not have been successful, but the team looked stronger than it had prior. Black^ told fans that he is now in a position to look for the right team and the right opportunity to be the best player in the world.

On the other hand, Ahjit was part of the LGD brand since February 2020. He was brought on as the carry player of PSG.LGD, but the team benched him ahead of the ESL One Los Angeles China Open Qualifier.

Ahjit was not able to play under PSG.LGD’s banner. After two months of inactivity, PSG.LGD reassigned him to the sister team LGD.Int.
