Team Vitality may be off to a decent start in the ESL Pro League Season 11’s European division. But that isn't the case for newly added player Kévin "misutaaa" Rabier.
After winning its first two series of the group stage, Vitality faced off against Team Spirit. After picking up a win on Inferno, misutaaa laid a goose egg on Dust 2. The player went 0-18 on the map, failing to pick up even one single kill.
Naturally, that was a major contributing factor to Vitality dropping the map in lopsided 16-5. Vitality then lost the decider on Overpass 16-13.
Counter-Strike: Global Offensive fans latched onto that 0-18 stat line and ran with it. Memes immediately popped up to mock the French player’s performance, prompting many to reminisce on other attempted pacifist runs of the game. Others questioned whether this was an omen that Vitality’s steady decline since the StarLadder Berlin Major were set to continue.
misutaa looks to prove himself with new squad Team Vitality
While misutaaa’s 0-18 scoreline is dreadful, he has proven himself a capable member of Team Vitality in his other series in ESL Pro League Season 11. misutaaa’s debut with the team came with a series opposite Godsent where he posted a solid 40-33 stat line en route to a convincing 2-0 win.
This was followed up by a 2-1 win over ENCE. While misutaaa wasn’t as sharp against the Finnish opponents, he still found his way to a 49-58 scoreline and manufactured a huge clutch in game three that helped Vitality close out the series.
Even in the series against Team Spirit, misutaaa had his share of moments. He went 24-12 on the opening map and shook off that Dust 2 flop well enough to perform well on Overpass.
Though the loss was disappointing and he likely saw the social media firestorm as soon as the game ended, he seemed to be in reasonably high spirits after and chalked it up as an “unlucky game” on Twitter.
Vitality and misutaaa still have a 2-1 record in the ESL Pro League Europe division and will look to rebound from the loss. The team will next face Ninjas in Pyjamas in a series that bookmakers see as a coinflip.
