After much anticipation and many delays, Fortnite’s Season 2 Chapter 2 has finally arrived.

The new chapter has come with a secret spy theme, introducing fans to two factions: Ghost and Shadow. If you’ve ever wanted to see Peely in a James Bond suit, now is your chance. “Top Secret” also introduces new characters and skins to the battle royale, including a super jacked calico cat and a dorky walking tree.

Whether that excites you or makes no sense to you, check it out below.

While all of these changes are quite fun to explore, when it comes to competitive Fortnite and the constantly changing meta is what truly matters. To help keep competition fresh, Epic Games has unvaulted a lot of weapons.

Weapons unvaulted in Fortnite Chapter 2

The weapons unvaulted in Fortnite Chapter 2 are as follows:

Boom Bow
Drum Gun
Heavy Sniper Rifle
Remote Explosives (C4)
Minigun
Suppressed Assault Rifle
Suppressed Pistol
Suppressed Sniper Rifle
Suppressed Submachine Gun

The Boom Bow is surprising to see on this list. First introduced in Season 8, the unique weapon fired explosive projectiles at opponents, acting as a zany sniper rifle. By pulling back the bow to fire, players saw a blue line indicating where the projectile would land. You could even get cross map kills with this weapon, making it quite satisfying.

The minigun is another fan favorite. The weapon was nerfed last year but still remained quite powerful, allowing you to spray bullets for several seconds. It was perfect for eliminating enemies and destroying their builds.

With more long distance weapons reintroduced into the map, it’s possible that close quarters combat might not be people’s top choice. Building may also become more important, ensuring that you’re safe from snipers watching open areas from the high ground.

Fortnite Chapter 2 brings more mobility

Perhaps even more important is the two mobility items that were unvaulted for Season 2 Chapter 2. Aside from boats, Season 2 lacked a lot of mobility, making many players fall victim to the storm during rotation.

After being banned to Creative mode, the Grappler is back. It was initially vaulted because it allowed players to retake high ground with minimal effort. You could fire it at random objects to pull you closer, and it could be chained to travel even further. In Chapter 2, this item’s rarity is Mythic. It also now has unlimited ammo.

Launch Pads are also back, but only in competitive. Launch Pads lauch players into the air. You then glide over enemies or use it to outrun the storm. This item has seen a lot of changes over time thanks to how much mobility it grants players who use it. Just be careful: You could become an easy target for a well-trained sniper.
