Team Liquid updates fans on Broxah's visa issues as team wallows

Co-CEO of Team Liquid Steve "LiQuiD112" Arhancet shared new details about Mads "Broxah" Brock-Pedersen’s visa process.

During the Hotline League, a Twitch podcast hosted by Travis Gafford and Mark Zimmerman, Arhancet said he has big news to share regarding the organization’s League of Legends team. As he couldn’t join the voice chat himself, he dropped the news about Broxah’s visa in the Twitch chat, letting fans know where things stand and explaining why Team Liquid has been so quiet regarding their star new player's status.

“I know we have been pretty quiet on the visa for Broxah, mostly in part because so much is out of our control,” Arhancet wrote. “This Thursday is an important date. We will hear a response back by then, approved or denied.”

Broxah's visa issues leave Team Liquid in LCS limbo

Thursday will be a big day for Liquid. Waiting to find out if Broxah can come to the United States and play in the 2020 LCS Spring Split is nerve-wracking for both the jungler and the team. If Broxah’s visa gets denied, both parties involved are looking to a disappointing split. Broxah won’t be able to easily join a European team in the middle of the split, and Liquid just hasn't been playing up to its 2019 form with a substitue.

Liquid currently shares fourth place in the LCS with three other teams that have a 2-2 record. Liquid's losses came at the hands of Cloud9 and Dignitas, while their wins came over Team SoloMid and FlyQuest.

With the academy player Shern "Shernfire" Cherng jungling instead of Broxah, Liquid hasn't maintained its spot at the top of the LCS. The team has started to improve around Shernfire, but there's no question that they'll need Broxah to climb back to the top of the mountain.

Whenever Broxah's visa situation is resolved, he'll have little to practice with his teammates before playing official games. Even if the team immediately clicks, they still face an uphill battle when it comes to qualifying for the 2020 Mid-Season Invitational.
