Team SoloMid closed week two of the 2020 LCS Spring Split with a convincing victory over Counter Logic Gaming.
TSM and CLG have one of the most iconic rivalries in League of Legends. Over the years, the two teams have consistently found themselves face-to-face on Summoner’s Rift. At this point in 2020, the rivals are at a low point and looking to rebound back at the expense of the other.
On TSM’s side, the team went for Qiyana in the jungle. CLG responded with a counter in the form of Olaf. These two picks decided the early game. Qiyana recently received a nerf in Patch 10.2 that makes her more effective as a laner than as a jungler. Olaf is a champion that clears the jungle fast and has the opportunity to invade the enemy side of the jungle.
On several occasions, Raymond “Wiggily” Griffin chased Joshua “Dardoch” Hartnett outside of his jungle and stole away camps. This robbed Dardoch of any early momentum, and put CLG in a good position early on.

Wiggily’s efforts only postponed the inevitable, however. While the junglers were fighting over the smaller camps, top laner Sergen "Broken Blade" Çelik was styling on Kim "Ruin" Hyeong-min. The battle in the top lane was only the beginning of the end for CLG.
In the bottom lane, Kasper "Kobbe" Kobberup grew a significant advantage over his lane opponent without any kind of jungler intervention. As the game progressed, it was obvious who had the upper hand.
Kobbe and Broken Blade were significantly ahead of the enemy team. TSM fully committed to plays and came out on top on every occasion. CLG found a pick here and there, but it wasn’t significant enough to wrest away the lead.
TSM put the final nail in the coffin with a baron buff. The team secured the objective and moved to the bottom side of the map to get the fourth dragon and the Ocean Soul. Powered up with two buffs, TSM marched into the enemy base. There was nothing that CLG could do to stop TSM from taking the victory.
The win evens TSM's record at 2-2, tying them in fourth place on the season with 100 Thieves, Immortals, and Team Liquid. Cloud9 is in first place at 4-0, with FlyQuest and Dignitas currently at 3-1. CLG is at the bottom of the scoreboard at 0-4.
