Team Secret’s new roster looked poised in victory at the PVP Esports Championship in Singapore.

During the event’s playoffs, six top teams duked it out in a single elimination format. After a clean 2-0 semifinal win against PSG.LGD, Team Secret advanced to the grand final to meet Fnatic, who had beaten Team Admiral.

Fnatic took the first game of the best-of-five final, holding a consistent net worth advantage throughout. Secret came back strong in response, dominating the second game.

The series continued to go back and forth until reaching a decisive fifth game, much to the excitement of the crowd in attendance. Team Secret stepped up their game with exceptional plays and a number of perfectly executed ganks, forcing Fnatic to tap out and admit defeat.

The championship was promoted by the Singtel Group and boasted a prize pool of $200,000. The three-day Dota 2 tournament hyped up local fans as nine different teams gathered through direct invites and regional qualifiers. Boom ID also secured a spot in the tournament for winning the Indonesia Games Championship.

PSG.LGD came into the event with the same roster that nearly powered them to victory at The International 2018, while finalists Team Secret and Fnatic both played with new line-ups tuned for the upcoming Dota Pro Circuit season.
