Tigers Qualify for Major after DreamLeague win
Tigers triumphed as the DreamLeague Season 10 Champions and earned their spot at the Kuala Lumpur Major.
After Tigers beat Natus Vincere in the first round of upper bracket playoffs, the Ukrainian team fought their way through the lower bracket of the tournament to secure a grand finals rematch.
The first game of the best-of-five series was lopsided as Tigers was able to establish a consistent lead in both gold and experience. Lai "Ahjit" Jay Son’s Meepo dominated Na`Vi and Tigers closed the game with a 33-kill advantage.
The tables would turn during the second game. Na`Vi smoked and initiated a team fight through the use of a pair of blink daggers. Tigers were caught off guard and wiped out. Tigers’ momentum came to a halt as the SEA squad couldn’t break Na`Vi’s great high ground defense. Tiger tried to contest Roshan but failed there as well. The resulting engagement was won with a three-man berserker’s call from Evgeniy "Blizzy" Ree’s Axe, and Tigers had to tap out.
The momentum was still on the side of Na`Vi during the series’ third game. Na`Vi took an early net worth lead and snowballed from there to stomp the Tigers defense and win with a dominant kill margin of 30-6 favoring the CIS squad.
With their backs against the wall, Tigers squared up with Na`Vi and took an early kill advantage in game four. Tigers used perfect rotations to catch Na`Vi off guard. Muhammad "Inyourdream" Rizky’s Invoker and Ahjit’s Mirana soon became unstoppable as Tigers successfully brought the series to a tie.
Tigers took a greedy draft into the decisive game with Crystal Maiden, Lina, Underlord, Tiny, and Mirana. Once again, they rotated aggressively and made sure Na`Vi’s Alchemist and Faceless Void picks could not easily farm the map. Tigers would end the game with a 26k net worth lead and a 25-kill advantage.
Tigers were rewarded for their victory with $125,000, 120 DPC points, and an invite to the Kuala Lumpur Major.
