The LCS Spring Finals are heading to Frisco, Texas this year.

“For the first time, after much demand from players and fans, the LCS Spring Finals are strapping on cowboy boots and heading south to Texas!” read the official press release.

The location was revealed for the first time during the pre-show broadcast on Saturday, January 25. The big show will be coming to the Ford Center at The Star on April 18 and 19.

The 91-acre campus houses the brand new GameStop Performance Center and Complexity Gaming’s headquarters. It’s also home to the Dallas Cowboys World Headquarters and practice facility. The Ford Center is a 12,000-seat stadium that usually hosts Frisco ISD football games and other popular sporting events.

“We are thrilled to partner with the city of Frisco in bringing one of the largest esports events in North America to the Ford Center,” Dallas Cowboys chief operating officer Stephen Jones said.

Hibes added that they’re proud to be part of the growing esports scene, hosting a “one-of-a-kind experience” for fans.

The Spring Split Finals will feature the semifinals and finals matches. The top team will not only take the championship title, but also qualify to represent North America at the 2020 League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational. Last year, Team Liquid managed a good showing on behalf of the LCS, finishing in second place and defeating Invictus Gaming in the semifinals.

Last year’s Summer Split Finals had over 600,000 viewers. It also contributed over $5.4 million to Detroit‘s local economy. According to Riot’s official post, they’re aiming to go “even bigger” for the Spring Finals “in fine Texas tradition.” More information on what this entails will be revealed in the coming months.

“Texas has been on our radar for years, and we’re humbled and proud to have a community strong enough to break ground in a market this size. We couldn’t imagine a better location than The Star and Friso to bring the LCS to Texas and deliver a completely new experience to our fans,” LCS commissioner Chris Greeley said.

Ticket information for the 2020 LCS Spring Finals will be released on February 14. They will go on sale February 21 on League of Legend’s official website
