ELEAGUE announces Super Punch live show on Twitch and TBS
ELEAGUE has partnered with Twitch to create a daily live show revolving around esports news and top streaming moments.
The tournament organizer announced "ELEAGUE Super Punch Powered by Twitch" on Twitter earlier today, a community-driven live show that will be hosted by Ify Nwadiw, Kelly Nugent, J.D. Witherspoon, and Alex Corea.
The Twitch premiere is Monday, February 3 at 11 PM EST. The show will then debut live on TBS on a Friday three weeks later.
A short video accompanying the reveal gave a sneak peak of the type of content esports fans can expect in upcoming episodes. The hosts react to popular Twitch clips, play some games with their guests, and even bring some late night talk show craziness with wheel spinning and challenges.
Turner Sports chief content officer Craig Barry described Super Punch as dynamic content made for gamers.
“Combining the platforms and assets of ELEAGUE, TBS and Twitch will create an original take on the culture of gaming, streaming and esports content, delivered in a truly immersive experience for our highly engaged fans," Barry said.
Twitch's SVP content and partnerships, Michael Aragon, said the streaming platform is thrilled to be working with ELEAUGE and TBS on the show.
“People on Twitch come together every day to create their own entertainment. What really excites us about the opportunity is not only showcasing the variety and breadth of talent and content on Twitch, but also staying true to the community-fueled aspect that gives audiences a voice and is so core to the experience," he said.
The show will air live on Twitch Monday through Friday starting February 3. The late-night entertainment will also come to TBS on Fridays at 9 PM PST starting February 21. These episodes can be watched on Twitch before and after the show's runtime on TBS.
