Mythic Reborn adds DAVEY, confirms polen before DreamHack Anaheim

Nick J. January 18, 2020

Mythic Reborn has added David “DAVEY” Stafford to its official ESEA roster, and confirmed current player Adam “polen” Polen for Season 33 of the Mountain Dew League.

The announcement was made on the team’s official Twitter account. Mythic adds DAVEY, brings back polen for 2020

Polen returns for another year on the Mythic squad, while DAVEY steps in to replace Samuel “SileNt” Portillo.

The fan-favorite stream team is headed by Eric “fl0m” Flom and made waves with the addition of Kaitlin “keiti” Boop in August 2019. Mythic also added Corbin “C0M” Lee around that time. The team has struggled in recent months, which can be largely chalked up to the retirement of James “hazed” Cobb and former in-game leader Eric “adreN” Hoag’s joining Team Liquid.

Mythic's roster consists of the following players:

  • Eric "fl0m" Flom
  • Adam "polen" Polen
  • Kaitlin “keiti” Boop
  • Corbin “C0M” Lee
  • David “DAVEY” Stafford

While not known for their explosiveness in the server, Mythic Reborn has had several high-profile streamers play under their banner since their inception. Streamer Jaryd “summit1g” Lazar played with the team for almost a year when the team was revived by Alexander “LeX” Deily in 2015. Mythic also counts Shawn “witmer” Taylor, Leonardo “Laski” Arroyo, and Todd “anger” Williams among their notable members.

Mythic looks to rebound at 2020 DreamHack Anaheim open qualifiers

Mythic Reborn recently qualified for the North American WINNERS League Season 3 playoffs but went 0-2 in their initial match against Riot Squad earlier this week, knocking them out of the tournament. Mythic will play another match against Riot Squad on Saturday, January 18, in the DreamHack Anaheim open qualifier.

The top four teams coming out of the Anaheim open qualifiers will move on to play against Complexity Gaming, eUnited, Gen.G, and Team Singularity in the event’s closed qualifiers on January 19.

The closed qualifiers should draw higher than normal viewership numbers as Gen.G despite Hansel "BnTeT" Ferdinand scheduled to play his first match with the organization since joining in late December.
