True Sight TI9 release date revealed, features OG and Liquid
Dota 2 fans will be able to experience the grand finals of The International 2019 in a new and much anticipated way.
True Sight: The International 2019 is coming, showing the backstage drama that played out during the grand finals series between OG and Team Liquid. Valve released a short trailer for the documentary, showing what fans have to look forward to.
The trailer shows both teams discussing the action off-stage, with Sébastien "Ceb" Debs talking about OG’s strength and Kuro "KuroKy" Salehi Takhasomi trying to hype up Liquid. It also hints at Ivan Borislavov "MinD_ContRoL" Ivanov going through a difficult stretch during the series, with someone commenting that he is “mentally done.”
OG won the series 3-1, overcoming a shocking Team Liquid comeback in game one with a three-game rally built around relentless offense. By defeating Liquid, who now play under the banner of Nigma, OG broke a long curse that saw no team or player successfully capture two TI championships. The team also brought home the top prize of over $15 million, which saw each the five players vault to the top of the all-time esports prize earnings charts.
Dota 2 True Sight 2019 release date revealed
True Sight is a documentary series that shows the backstage drama surrounding the grand finals of The International. It features a mix of clips from the backstage area, conversations in the booths on the finals stage, and dramatized clips of the biggest in-game moments.
The series began in 2017 with Newbee and Team Liquid facing off at The International 2017. This is the third installment in the series.
Valve released two versions of True Sight: The International 2018. The first was the documentary itself, while the second featured most of the OG roster watching it together in a theater while discussing the action. It is unknown whether Valve has similar plans for this year’s installment.
Alongside the teaser trailer, Valve announced that True Sight: The International 2019 Finals will have a “live world premiere” in Berlin, Germany on January 28 at 7 p.m. CET which will air on both SteamTV and Twitch. The full version of the documentary will then be viewable on-demand on YouTube.
