New LoL game CONV/RGENCE revealed at The Game Awards
The Game Awards was very kind to League of Legends fans.
Alongside winning two awards, two different spin-off titles were revealed during the event. In addition to Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, CONV/RGENCE: A League of Legends Story was also unveiled with a short teaser trailer.
No gameplay was shown at The Game Awards, but one of the developers on hand gave fans an idea of what’s in the works. CONV/RGENCE will be an action platformer that centers around time travel and the issues that can be caused with that sort of power. The game will feature League of Legends champion Ekko, with the settings for the game including Piltover and the underground city Zaun.
No characters other than Ekko were shown in the trailer, but Piltover and Zaun are the homes of several other LoL champions including Ezreal, Jinx, Orianna, and Warwick.
CONV/RGENCE is being developed by Double Stallion Games, a studio based in Montreal, Quebec. The developer has also released 2D combat racing game Speed Brawl, as well as single-player beat ‘em up Big Action Mega Fight.
No other details were given on the game. It is unknown when the game will release, or what platforms it will be developed for. Double Stallion Games’ titles have launched on mobile, PC, and all major consoles.
CONV/RGENCE is one of many new LoL games
League of Legends fans already had a whole lot to look forward to when it comes to the future of the franchise. Though Riot Games’ name has long been somewhat ironic given its exclusive focus on LoL, the publisher has announced a slew of different games over recent months including spin-off titles Legends of Runeterra and Wild Rift as well as standalone titles like tactical shooter Project A.
Alongside this, Riot Games announced Riot Forge, a gaming label that will see the publisher work alongside other developers in order to create new games in the League of Legends universe. The first title, Ruined King: A League of Legends Story, was also revealed at The Game Awards.
Unfortunately, fans are left to wonder when these titles will become a reality. Fans that want to keep up on CONV/RGENCE can bookmark its official website.
