Team Liquid’s bot laner Yiliang “Doublelift” Peng is warming up to the idea of having Mads “Broxah” Brock-Pederse as a teammate. The player recently posted a vlog on his personal YouTube channel where he praised Broxah’s maturity, competitive spirit, and mechanical skills.

“I’m really excited to play with this guy. He is so mature for 22, I will tell you I’m still a little bit dumb, but this guy is so well put together. He has incredible mechanics and I’d say he has a ton of potential,” Doublelift said on the vlog.

The comment comes after Doublelift said on a stream that making this change “could be a mistake.” The player compared the roster move with Team SoloMid in 2017 when the team blew up its winning roster for no reason.

Doublelift’s hesitation to accept Broxah at first might have been because imports tend to look at North America like a  less competitive region and a place to get big money.

“The thing that I always don’t want is to play with a guy who’s checked out and comes to NA for the paycheck. It’s quite common for people to come to NA and use it as a way for them to make a ton of money before they stop being a pro. I know Broxah is not doing that, I know he’s coming here because he wants to compete. He’s super driven to find success,” Doublelift added.

Broxah seems to be equality excited to move across the ocean to a new region. The Danish player is leaving Fnatic after three years with the organization. 2019 was a tumultuous year for Fnatic, as the organization had good results and yet those stilll weren’t enough to keep the team happy.

Earlier this month, former Fnatic head coach Joey ‘YoungBuck’ Steltenpool talked about the challenges the team faced through the year. According to YoungBuck, the players had contradicting approaches to the game and simply didn’t want to play with each other.

Doublelift to attend LoL All-Stars event as a guest

Broxah and Team Liquid will start practice in 2020 after New Year’s, according to Doublelift. The year is not over for the players just yet, as the All-Star 2019 event starts in December at the Esports Arena Las Vegas.

In the same vlog, Doublelift confirmed that he won’t be attending the event as a competitor. According to the player, while he appreciates the support from the fans, it is better to see new faces at the event.

“I’m so privileged that I can even say yes or no to this when 40 other pro players are probably just like ‘men, I wish I was that popular’ and I don’t take it for granted,” Doublelift explained, adding that he will attend the event as a guest.
