Atlanta OWL team reveal roster
The Atlanta Reign has announced its full roster for Overwatch League Season 2.
Each of the team’s new players was presented with clips of their gameplay in a YouTube reveal. Out of the eight players, none have previously played in the Overwatch League and instead have been selected from Overwatch Contenders teams.
Atlanta has decided on a three-tank formation, with two out of the three tanks from Element Mystic. Seo "DACO" Dong-hyeong has been chosen as the team’s flex tank, with teammate Park "Pokpo" Hyun-jun taking the main tank role. The third tank in the line-up is Blake “Gator” Scott from Last Night’s Leftovers, and is known for his Reinhardt.
Atlanta’s two support players have been revealed as Steven "Kodak" Rosenberger and Petja "Masaa" Kantanen, of 6nakes and Team Gigantti respectively. Kodak has previously played for the German team in the 2018 Overwatch World Cup, helping his side to achieve fourth place in the French qualifiers. Team Gigantii finished second in the European Contenders in 2018, falling to the British Hurricanes.
Ilya “NLaaeR” Koppalov, from Last Night’s Leftovers along with Gator, has joined as DPS. Last Night’s Leftovers was formed in early 2018, yet despite their inexperience placed fifth in the North American Contenders league behind four OWL academy teams. Alongside NLaaeR is Jeong "Erster" Joon, well known in the Chinese Contenders scene for his skills on Genji.
The final member of the Atlanta roster is well known streamer Daniel ‘dafran’ Francesca, formerly of Selfless Gaming. Dafran has previously been suspended for in-game behavior, and joining Atlanta marks his return to the professional scene. He had been expected to join a team in the inaugural OWL season, but stated he wasn’t ready to join at that time.
Teams have until December 1 to have at least eight players on roster, with season two scheduled to begin February 14
