FlyQuest signs IgNar as new support for the 2020 LCS season
From one of the best teams in the LEC, IgNar is transferring to NA to play with FlyQuest, NA’s second to worst. Switching regions is nothing new to the support, as he has moved back and forth from Korea to Europe in the past, and played in NA at the beginning of his career.
IgNar returns to NA team in the 2020 LCS
IgNar started his competitive career when he joined Winterfox in the 2015 NA LCS. Just a few months later, he returned to his country of birth where he played for KT Rolster and finished the 2016 LoL Champions Korea season in second place.
Starting the 2017 season, he moved to Europe to play for Misfits and eventually FC Schalke. After experiencing mixed success during his time in the LEC, he’s back to try his luck again in NA.
FlyQuest hopes for better season by replacing support
The news of IgNar joining FlyQuest comes soon after the team parted ways with former jungler Kim “Wadid” Bae-In, also a Korean player that has competed on the LEC stage before joining FlyQuest last year.
Fans believe bringing IgNar on the team could be what FlyQuest needs to bounce back after a disappointing 2019 LCS Summer split. The team finished the regular season second to last, although they did have a good start to it.
The 2019 LCS Spring split saw FlyQuest finished fourth after defeating Golden Guardians in a tiebreaker. The team had nine wins, even taking a game against the NA’s best in Team Liquid. But everything went downhill with the start of the summer split.
The team couldn’t compete against the best teams in the region and fell down to the ninth place with 13 losses and only five wins throughout the whole summer split.
The rest of the roster for the 2020 LCS hasn’t been confirmed yet, but it’s possible it will remain otherwise unchanged and that IgNar will play the bottom lane with veteran ADC Jason “WildTurtle” Tran.
