Origen has announced its roster for 2020, including former FC Schalke 04 AD carry Elias “Upset” Lipp and former Splyce jungler Andrei “Xerxe Dragomir.

Origen reinvented itself with a new bottom lane duo and a new jungler. Upset will be joined by Australian support Mitchell “Destiny” Shaw, who recently took part in the World Championship with MAMMOTH. The roster will be completed with top laner Barney “Alphari” Morris and mid laner Erlend “Nukeduck” Holm.

Origen adds new members for LEC 2020 splits

“I see a huge potential in the way we work to develop a strong foundation and winning organization, and I believe our 2020 roster demonstrates our ambitions. Alphari and Nukeduck will continue to be vital parts of the team, and by adding Xerxe, Upset, and Destiny, we create a new, more aggressive and stronger team identity, while also adding X factor to our game,” general manager Martin “Deficio” Lynge said on a press release.

Origen had a strong inaugural season in the LEC, the team finished as the runner up and established itself as a top tier team in the league. The team failed to keep the same level through summer, which ultimately to them missing the World Championship.

Adding Upset, Xerxe, and Destiny could take the team to a whole new level. Xerxe is one of the best junglers in Europe with a proven record. Upset is considered to be among the best AD carry in the most difficult region for players in that role. Destiny is having its first international opportunity after a solid performance in the OPL.

Upset and Nukeduck previously played together under Schalke in 2018, that year the team the year was a finalist in the EU LCS. These players have a good synergy that will work in Origen’s favor in 2020.

Origin has the pieces to be a contender in 2020. On paper, this is the team that can challenge G2 Esports’ supremacy in Europe.
