Quincy Crew signs with Chaos Esports Club before Dota Summit 11

The Quincy Crew have finally found themselves a sponsor in Chaos Esports Club.

The organization announced the signing of the North American team on its official website.

“Our organization was born in Dota 2, and it is with great excitement that we announce we will be continuing the fight for the Aegis of the Immortal this season with the addition of Quincy Crew to Chaos EC,” Chaos said in a statement. “Quincy Crew comes to us as a pillar of the North American Dota community and we hope to build off of that and provide them with the support they need to take their performance to the next level.”

The organization also notes that the team will also be used in the organization’s content creation efforts. What this entails is currently unknown due to Chaos undergoing a rebranding at this time.

The Quincy Crew lineup is a very strong one, comprised of established North American talent. Chaos adds the Quincy Crew lineup as it stood, in full:

• Yawar “Yawar” Hassan
• Quinn “CCnC” Callahan
• Arif “MSS” Anwar
• Avery “SVG” Silverman

Taking on offlaner duties on a trial basis is Jonáš “SabeRLight-” Volek. SabeRLight- is currently signed to Hippomaniacs, but was added as a substitute for the Dota Summit 11 minor following the departure of Syed “SumaiL” Hassan who left due to an alleged poor fit and unspecified legal issues.

Also added on a trial basis as the team’s coach is former Virtus.pro player Ilya “IllidanSTR” Pivtsaev. The team will still retain the services of manager Jack “KBBQ” Chen.

Quincy Crew was formed after the ex-Forward Gaming’s lineup split from Newbee following The International 2019. The team was a formidable one on paper, with each member enjoying success on Dota 2’s grandest stages.

The wasn’t as impressive as many were hoping during their debut effort in the qualifiers to the MDL Chengdu Major. However, the organization salvaged that effort by qualifying for the Dota Summit 11.

Chaos Esports Club returning to Dota 2 ahead of Dota Summit 11

Chaos Esports Club, formerly known as Digital Chaos, is best known for its grand finals appearance at The International 2016. The following season saw the roster split off from the organization and ultimately disband after failing to qualify for The International 2017.

The organization signed a new roster from there, but bounced in and out of the game several times as its new rosters would struggle in their debut effort and immediately break up.

Following Digital Chaos’ rebranding, the organization returned to Dota 2 in a more serious way with the signing of the South American PaiN Gaming roster. The team consistently qualified for majors, but was never able to make any real progress at the events. This resulted in most of the players being released and a new European roster being formed just before The International 2019. The new team successfully qualified for TI9, but was eliminated from the group stage.

The organization has released its entire team from that time player by player, which raised questions about whether the organization was pulling out of Dota 2 once again.

The signing of Quincy Crew is a good one, as the roster has a strong chance of qualifying for majors this season as one of the most talented North American teams. They are set to compete at Dota Summit 11, which kicks off on November 7.
