Another Dota 2 player has nabbed a brand new Mercedes-Benz car.

TNC Predator captain Park “March” Tae-won was bestowed the MVP award after his team won ESL One Hamburg 2019. The prize for this achievement is a new Mercedes-Benz car. He joins ESL’s Dota 2 Mercedes-Benz Club, which also includes Kim “Febby” Yong-min, Alexey “Solo” Berezin, and Clement “Puppey” Ivanov.

“I actually don’t have a car. I’ve never had a car in my life, but yeah this is going to be good” March said after he was announced as the victor. When pressed on this, March clarified by saying “I know how to drive, but I’ve never had a car.”

TNC Predator became the first Southeast Asian team to win an ESL Dota 2 tournament. The squad looked excellent during the group stage and started strong in the upper bracket of the playoffs. They defeated Gambit Esports in the grand finals of the event to capture the $125,000 top prize.

March, TNC Predator looking like threats in 2019-2020 Dota 2 season

This is a great start to March’s year after a rough 2018-2019 season.

After completing his mandatory military service in South Korea, March returned to professional Dota 2 as a coach for Wind and Rain. He returned to competition in North America with a team named for him, Marchoutofarmy. The team was sponsored by J.Storm but struggled competitively and ultimately kicked him after failing to qualify for the Epicenter Major.

He returned to the SEA region for the 2019-2020 season by signing with TNC Predator and the team is looking like it could be a force.

While March’s story is a compelling one, he didn’t earn this car strictly because of that. The MVP award is determined 40% by public voting and 60% by expert vote. While being popular doesn’t hurt, March won the car largely by posting a strong performance during the tournament.
