According to a report from French esports news site 1pv.fr, Complexity Gaming is in the early stages of replacing longtime player Rory “dephh” Jackson with Denmark’s Kristian “k0nfig” Wienecke.

Dephh is currently the longest-tenured player on the Complexity roster, having joined in 2016 and captained several iterations of the organization’s CSGO squads. k0nfig has spent time with several teams since his split with North in February 2018.

The unconfirmed rumor comes after weeks of upheaval surrounding the Complexity Gaming roster. Following a disappointing performance at the StarLadder Berlin Major, Complexity CEO Jason Lake had some choice words for both the fans of the Complexity brand and the players on the team.

After Complexity exited the Valve Major following a poor start, Lake took to Twitter to express his frustration with his team.

“I love our players as individuals but these results won’t be tolerated,” Lake said.

Complexity exited the Berlin Major in 14th place, below other teams like Syman Gaming and Hellraisers, teams that on paper Lake believed shouldn’t be able to compete with Complexity.

“If you’re a Tier 1 player looking for a fresh start at the best facility in the world, HMU.  I’ll pay your buyout and give you the world’s highest salaries. Let’s build a juggernaut. Spread the word,” Lake said.

It was clear from that moment that changes were coming for the organization’s CSGO team.

Complexity overhauls roster following Berlin Major

Complexity made several roster moves almost immediately, starting with the benching of Hunter “SicK” Mims and Ricardo “Rickeh” Mulholland. Soon after, Complexity announced the signing of two players: former Major winner William “Rush” Wierzba off Cloud9’s bench, and the young but talented in-game leader Benjamin “blameF” Bremer away from Heroic. According to 1pv.fr, blameF’s buyout topped $500K USD.

Complexity has been quiet since those roster changes, but rumors have surfaced that the remaining three original Complexity members are still not safe from change. Only Shahzeeb “ShahZaM” Khan, Owen “dephh” Schlatter, and Rory “oBo” Jackson remain from Complexity’s Berlin lineup. Head coach Jaime Hall has also retained his position thus far.

One this is for certain, however. Complexity doesn’t look like it’s done with its rebuild quite yet. The organization is currently participating in both ECS Season 8 and EPL Season 10. They play their next match against Team Envy on November 15 in ESL Pro League Season 10.
