Patch 9.21 brings new Halloween skins, several buffs and nerfs
League of Legends was recently updated with patch 9.21 on October 22, bringing new Halloween-themed skins, a good number of buffs, and a smaller number of nerfs for the game's champions.
Patch 9.21 buffs Kayn, Lulu, Maokai, and more
Kayn has had it a bit rough lately, especially in the early game, which is why patch 9.21 buffed Reaping Slash's damage, although it did also lower its bonus damage to monsters.
Another champion that has been underperforming is Kog’Maw. His kit should now feel more rewarding with higher damage on both Caustic Spittle and Void Ooze.
Even though poke-oriented supports are already a popular pick, Lulu is usually left behind, but players might have more incentive to pick the yordle now that Help, Pix! received a buff in both its damage and the shield gained. Viktor hasn’t been receiving the love Riot was aiming for with the 9.20 buff, so he got another buff to his base states as well as more damage to Siphon Power.
The biggest buff of this patch belongs to Maokai, as Twisted Advance’s damage got significantly increased, and its cost got capped at its lowest level. In addition, Nature’s Grasp will have a 0.2 seconds longer duration, which might not seem like much but can be very impactful in the game.
Last but not least on the list of patch 9.21 buffs is Warwick, who now deals a higher percentage of his target’s maximum health as damage with his Jaws of the Beast, and Blood Hunt now gives higher bonus attack speed so it will be a more valuable skill to level up.
Garen, Shaco, and Pyke have been tuned down
After the minor rework Garen received in the previous patch, he has felt a bit too strong, so Riot has decided to drastically lower Judgment’s base damage per spin while keeping its ratios the same. A similar story follows Shaco, as Jack in The Box will now last 20 seconds less than before.
Another force on the rift is Pyke, and he had to be tuned down as well. Once Pyke started snowballing, he was almost impossible to kill, so his passive healing has been decreased to 25-50% of damage dealt.
New Halloween skins for Blitzcrank, Kassadin, Miss Fortune
With the Halloween coming close, new themed skins are to be released. Witch’s Brew Blitzcrank, Count Kassadin, Bewitching Miss Fortune, and Miss Fortune’s new prestige version are up in the shop. Blitzcrank and Kassadin’s skin also have different chromas available.
Anni-Versary has also been added to the store, which is Annie’s new skin in celebration to League’s 10-year anniversary.
The patch implemented a number of additional bug fixes and improvements, including bugs related to Sona and Master Yi. The full notes can be found here.
