StarSeries i-League Season 8 has revealed their full talent lineup, and the Counter-Strike: Global Offensive community is excited to see Auguste “Semmler” Massonnat return to casting CSGO.

“Back in action. Let’s get it,” Semmler tweeted after it was announced.

Casper “cadiaN” Møller was one of many within the esports scene to applaud his return.

“Can’t wait to hear one of my games casted with your voice again,” cadiaN said.

Semmler also joked that he needed a new headshot after his break from CSGO casting, noting he was “happy to be on a talent card for a CS event” once again. He got that new headshot soon after, which he also shared on social media.

Semmler returns to CSGO casting

Semmler has been one of CSGO’s main personalities for a long time, casting many big events including Valve Majors and big league finals. He started his career as a Bloodline Champions broadcaster, but moved to Sweden to become more involved in the competitive scene there.

One of his first CSGO appearances was as a shoutcaster on NiPgamingTV, where he achieved early fame working alongside Anders Blume.

With his excited casting style being known worldwide, the CSGO community was sad to see him switch to the Overwatch League at the end of 2017. He covers the Overwatch League full-time, but the switch back to CSGO may be due OWL’s global formatting for the 2020 season. So far it remains unclear how talent will work with the new worldwide tournament schedule.

Semmler may also be casting the CSGO event simply because it fits within the Overwatch League offseason schedule.

Semmler is not only casting StarSeries i-League Season 8. He is also scheduled to appear in an upcoming BLAST Pro Series tournament as well.
