PUBG Mobile delivers 10-year ban to over 2,400 cheaters
PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds has just revealed that over 2,400 mobile cheaters have received 10-year bans.
"We have always strived to deliver a gaming environment that is fair and enjoyable for each and every player and prevent cheating. We take this issue very seriously; as such, each account in violation has received a 10-year ban," developers stated in a notice.
PUBG's official Twitter stated that they have been stepping up their efforts to fight hackers and cheaters daily. They show no signs of slowing down on these initiatives and noted that more information on the bans will be available in the coming weeks.
While many mobile players took pleasure in the extremely long bans that the cheaters received, others were still worried about the game's overall integrity, especially at higher levels.
"These are just silver and gold tier players you banned. What about those who are ruining high tier gameplay What about leaderboard? They are at the top with insane KD. Ban them immediately first and then brag about something. I am not convinced. Still got killed by magic bullet," said one player.
Magic Bullet is a popular PUBG Mobile hack that functions similar to an aim bot, granting players easy head shots. That is just one of the many hacking options that exist for PUBG Mobile, with players also able to get an unfair advantage through cheats that allow them to jump higher, remove recoil while spraying, and use "God View" or wall hacks.
The continued presence of hackers and the proliferation of cheating tools has forced PUBG Mobile's developers to keep coming up with new ways to fight back. This included a 100-year ban earlier this year, and the implementation of an in-game reporting system.
"We will continue to enforce stringent discipline against cheaters and publish the IDs of confirmed cheaters," they said. "Thank you for helping us make PUBG MOBILE a better game."
