Auguste “Semmler” Massonat, current Overwatch League caster and a former Counter Strike: Global Offensive caster beloved by many fans, could soon return to his roots during the OWL offseason.

Semmler dropped a cryptic hint in a Twitter reply to a CSGO fan pining for a Semmler return, saying that the fan in question could soon see his wish answered.

“Might not have to wait too long to hear me again,” Semmler said.

This wouldn’t be the first time Semmler made a return to CSGO casting in the OWL offseason. He made a return to his roots during the BLAST Pro Series Copenhagen 2018 tournament. With Dreamhack Masters Malmö 2019 just around the corner and plenty of other big CSGO events in the near future, there are ample opportunities for Semmler to pop up in and around the scene.

Semmler is still locked in with the OWL as well, and has expressed his excitement about the upcoming Season 3 and its new homestand weekend matches featuring each franchised team in its home location.

During his time in the OWL, Semmler has taken some flack from fans who don’t think his style has transferred as well to the new game, but in CSGO, some fans have come to miss him. His famously hype style of casting made him into one of the most recognizable figures in the scene.

There is currently no information on Semmler’s future plans with the OWL. The league has made unpopular cuts to its talent desk before, such as not renewing the contract of Jonathan “Reinforce” Larsson, a former professional tank player who brought a metric ton of knowledge to the OWL analyst desk. Fans were upset to see Reinforce go.

For now, CSGO fans can rejoice as they may soon have one of their favorite voices back in their favorite game. And should the OWL not work out for Semmler, he may still have a home in professional CSGO events in the future.
