Riot Games have revealed some incredible Teamfight Tactics statistics that prove the game mode’s success.

According to a recent press release, TFT has over 33 million players each month.

“I want to try to put into perspective just how large the TFT community is to help highlight why we’re going to be investing more into the mode,” developer Richard “Maple Nectar” Henkel said.

This statistic may not be what people expect, since Teamfight Tactics saw an extreme decline in Twitch views between July and August. In just a month, the auto battler went from the number one most-viewed game to 10th place.

Along with the shocking amount of players involved each month, Riot also had some other large numbers to share with Teamfight Tactics fans. This included players racking up a collective 1,725,000,000 hours of game time. In the past 30 days, TFT players put in 720,000,000 hours of gameplay.

These statistics backed up Maple Nectar’s next bullet point, which stated that the global average peak concurrent players in League of Legends increased a whopping 30 percent “when TFT hit live servers,” a trend that continues through today.

This success has led TFT developers to announce a competitive scene for TFT starting in 2020.

“As a result of your continued excitement for the mode—as seen by the hours you spend playing, watching, and talking about it—we feel confident in really doubling down on TFT’s development. We’ve started working on some pretty big plans to make this an experience you want to invest in for years to come,” Maple Nectar said.

According to the press release, Teamfight Tactics is the first game mode since ARAM to “show the potential” to be a long-term addition to League of Legends. Because of Riot’s positive view on TFT’s “huge” future, developers will be “continuing to expand the game” in various ways. This includes social experiences as well as more features on the competitive side of things.

Maple Nectar went on to thank Teamfight Tactics fans for their patience, passion, and dedication as the TFT team continued to fix bugs through the past few months.

“For those of you who waited in 36 hour PBE queues to get a chance to play, to those who endured the early bugs when we shipped, and to everyone who has provided their feedback on how to make the game better—thank you. We look forward to continuing building this game with you and are excited about the stories you’ll be able to tell about your TFT experience many years from now,” he concluded.
